Last night, while waiting for my Balance class to start,  naisip ko na ang dami mong malalaman just by watching a BodyJam class.

1. You'd know if someone had a Jazz training (yep, even if they're dancing to JT's Sexy Back). How? One, lagi silang nakatingkayad (uhm, proper term is "tendu"). That's why sobrang defined din yung mga calves and quads muscles nila. Kung sa ibang Jammers, it's "turn around", sa kanila would be "pirouette around" LOLS.
Third, project to the nth level sila everytime, as if nasa stage sila ng CCP at me audience sila.

LOLS. Like one time, me isang borta borta guy. 170 lbs of pure muscles itow. Balbas sarado.  Matangkad. Mamang mama ang dating. At nung una, parang tinatamad lang. small steps lang...pero nung middle of the routine na...wag ka, lumilipad na siya, mega project,  at ang kamay, pilantik ever! Nakakaloka pero it just shows na ang grace ay hindi exclusive to the petite and to the effeminate.

That or nadulas sa mini pool of pawis nya sa floor. Ugh...

4.(personal bias alert!) Kenneth is more of hip hoppy, ganun din si Mong. si Jayce, magaling sa lahat, and kaya nyang gawing malanding malandi ang mga sayaw. Lols. and the girl sa FF North Edsa na ma-boca, well, yun...ma boca sya....sa class nya, cguro 75% ang pag dadada nya, and the remaining 25%, ang pagsasayaw nya/ pagtuturo nya ng sayaw. Sobrang daldal nya na nakaka-irita!

5. me ibang tao talaga na pinaghahahandaan ang Jam, pananamit-wise. Yung iba, Nike all over.  Yung iba, color coordinated from the headband to their socks.

Nakakatuwa lang :D

Release na pala next week. Can't wait...:) balita ko ang warm-up track e 9 mins, Work ni Kelly Rowland.

Ayan, para sa mga non-FF member at sa mga adik ng Jam 44, heto yung playlist for the second block. Deadma na sa first block.

Sabi ng friend ko, yung Let's dance daw, me 80s na feel, New Wave-ish and I kinda agree. Well, yung Conga nga ni Glori Stefan sa first bloc e, wala nman, napapangiti lang ako pag sa part na yun kasi naiimagine ko mga girls na naka shoulder pads, yung oversized na tee, big hair and leggings. Hahaha

Official na, 80s is back!

We had Body Jam again yesterday and guess what, am starting to like the new Jam. Hindi naman pala sya ganun kasama. Anyhow, I love the second block, Greenlight/Beyonce then Let's dance/Hi Tack, and the finally, the climax of Jam 44, Everybody Everybody/Blackbox (Benassi mix 2007).

Finally, I also love the cooldown. Until the end of time/ JT feat Beyonce, Again! Gusto ko yung close open. Hehehe.

New Jam is here. Was able to try it out last weekend and I have mixed feelings about it. Weird kasi nya. There's the 80s na element, at the same time heavy on hip hop moves and na-incorporate din naman ang club. Weird. Anyhow, the release is very tiring though. If want good cardio work out, attend Jam classes. Hehehe. Here's one of the tracks, Let's Dance by Hi Tack. Di ba medyo 80s sya?

Blog EntryOf travels.May 2, '08 2:18 AM

Aside from being frugal, hardworking, and respectful, one of the most notable characteristics of Ilocanos is that of being a traveler.  From that narrow strip of land facing China Sea, they went west to the more fertile plains of Cagayan Valley (where I was born, and grew up), down south in Mindanao, or even to the plantations of Hawaii ( the first Sakadas are Ilocanos) .

Point is, it is our nature to travel, to explore new places (i-justify ba ang pagiging lakwatsero, hahaha). Only difference is that my ancestors did it for survival ( they needed to find more fertile ground, literal and figuratively, while I, ehehe, mainly for leisure.

But who knows, the Philippine soil can no longer sustain the seedling, it needs to be transplanted.  :D

Anyhow, here's my travel score:

My Lakbayan grade is C-!

How much of the Philippines have you visited? Find out at Lakbayan!

That's the link to the Freerice game of the World Food Program. Answer vocubulary tests and for every correct answer you get, organizations/companies donate 20 grains of rice to the poor through the UN WFP. Easy right?

Easy right?  If you have a Shakespearian vocabulary, yep, else, medyo mahirap siya. Like for me, the word is "obduracy" . Anu yun di ba? Hehe..

But it is fun. You'll learn a lot of new words, and you help in raising rice donations for the poor. Win win situation.

Here's my stats pala:

Current level is 35  -- jologs...:P
Highest level is 41.

And I already donated 14,640 grains of rice.  Keribelles na yun :P

High global food prices are creating "a silent tsunami", threatening to plunge more than 100 million people into hunger, says WFP's Executive Director Josette Sheeran.

True. And it’s happening not just in war-torn Africa but on our very own country.

Price of rice reached historic heights. All over the news, people are queueing under midday sun for a bag of subsidized NFA rice. Government is pulling all the stops to remedy the situation. Even if it entails losses on part of the Government. The presidency is at stake here. Coup attempts may have failed but hungry Filipinos can spell disaster for GMA.

And so people are pointing fingers with each other. The more intelligent ones propose solutions. Some proposed using kalabasa as bread additive and carbs source. Some proposed camote instead of rice. Another proposed hyperincreasing salary in the Philippines to cope with the rising prices. Etcetera.

I will not propose yet another solution.

Instead, I’ll share what my former professor in anthropology used to tell us (almost everyday):

“Live simply so that others may simply live”

I think it's true..:D

Go to wfp.org if you want to donate. Or just click the pic.

Blog EntryCappucino and Paper Roses Apr 15, '08 10:30 PM
for everyone

Kwentong ka kornihan muna…

Nung Valentung, uhm, Valentine’s day, nag-promise ako sa sarili never to take part in the occasion. So wala akong plans for dinner, gift giving churva, etc.

But then again, pag-uwi ko, naisipan kong dumaan sa Markey! Markey! and bumili ako ng flowers.

Eeeekk, corny!!! I Know!!! Pero yep, nakipagsiksikan ako sa flowershop sa Market!, with all the dudes, repapips, bowaers, boyfriends, hubbies, etc., at bumili nga ako ng isang bouquet. In fairness, hindi rose binili ko. Paper roses daw pangalan. Whatever. At least kakaiba…

And then off to Cybergate. Baka magalit sakin. Nauna sya sakin…

So arrive sa Cybergate, pinababa ko si Elly and gave the flowers in front of Accenture and West employees na nakatambay sa labas.  Mega blush ang bakla! Hahahah

And then nag-dinner kami sa Selah, nag coffee din ako and nang inggit sa mga bilat na isang rose lang dala nila. Elly got a bouquet. Hah!

And then ayaw nya dalhin sa taas. Nahihiya daw sya. Dinramahan ko na lang na magtatampo ako kung hindi sya mag hahawak ng gift nya…and that pinaghirapan ko piliin yun ( true, torn kasi ako between paper roses and a pot of narcissus)…and that slight mahalia sya…

So yun, inakyat naman nya sa opis nila…and nakantiyawan nga daw siya..hehehe

I think happy naman sya na nakatanggap sya ng paper roses on mush day. :D

Blog EntryFely J's Adobo and Dilis-cious RiceApr 11, '08 4:48 AM
for everyone

Finally, last Wednesday, Irene, Giselle and I, were able to push through with our dinner plans. I was expecting the library peeps but they did not come. Some of them already made prior commitments while others need to extend their work.

After meeting briefly with Rose(?), the scuba instructor (Giselle and Irene are going scuba diving this weekend. Am not. Too scared. Paano naman, I can’t swim. But I am sooo jealous), we went to GB5 for dinner. Someone told me to avoid Pia Y Damaso so we avoided that. Japanese is not an option so there goes John and Yoko. Finally, we settled at Fely J’s Kitchen.

Apparently, Fely J’s is a sister resto of Abe. In fact, Fely J is the name of the wife of Abe and that they’re, in reality, the parents of the founder of the resto chain, Larry J. Cruz. Very interesting…but enough of that…

We ordered their adobo because the waiter said so. We also ordered dilis-cious rice because the waiter insisted that it is the better pair for their adobo( better than pina rice which we considered initially) For veggies, we got ginataang veggies with shrimps. And for drinks, ol’ fashioned calamansi juice.

Thank God we listened to the waiter. The adobo is yummy. Lots of garlic. Not so sour (Elly, take note),and not so sweet. It is crispy on the outside and yet so moist, succulent and soft. Heavenly! And dilis-rice! Yummy! It is a complete meal by itself. The only disappointment is the ginataang veggies and I just know the culprit, the squash, and the the gata. Just not the way I wanted them to be…

Anyhow, Fely J’s is definitely worth visiting again! Prepare at least 5 hash. :D

Blog EntryRunner 2742Apr 4, '08 2:22 AM
for everyone

On March 3, 2008, Elly and I woke up early, around 5:00 in the morning, for the Condura benefit Run for Tubattaha. Wearing bib no. 2742, I ran the 5K course.

me and Elly before the race

From NBC tent, we turned right to 26th Ave then to 5th St all the way past S&R Shopping, then to British School, then back again to NBC tent passing through Market! Market! and Serendra.

Because I did not warm up and stretch much, my calves ached even before I reached the first water station at the 2nd km. Bummer really! I had to slow down. But I’m still lucky, one runner suffered from leg cramps just after the 1st water station, in the middle of a talahiban near British School.

I reached the finish line after 28:23 minutes. Not bad for a beginner right?

me at the finish line, obviously tired

I was so happy finishing the race safely.  I was so happy completing the 5 km course.  I was so happy running for Tubattaha.

me after collecting my goody bag

Tired, aching but very proud and fulfilled, we treated ourselves to a latte and bagel and ciabatta from Starbucks. :D

                              treat! no diet today. :P

Oh by the way, we saw a lot of famous peeps like FZA and his family. They, too, ran for the fishes and all marine creatures of Tubattaha.

And I also got a shirt, a canvas tote, a button pin, a sticker, 2 juices in tetra pak and a can of Swift corned beef! Not bad…hahahaha

                              my rewards!

Well, I hope to collect more race bibs this year. and join a 10Ker too!

Blog EntryDaybreakMar 5, '08 4:36 AM

Daybreak…

Calm. Peace. Serenity. Zen.

Calm before the storm?

Me mga issues sila  pareho.

(Nope, wala naman masyadong sigawan, or physical fights pero alam mo na sobrang tense na yung situation...I should know..hehehe:D)

Maganda rin yung cinematography.Pati nga blinds, ganda ng kuha. Pine trees, patin tuyot na pool. Ulap.

Me sex scenes, butt shots...okay lang. Given na mga yun para sakin :D

Ahhh, me Beauty and the Beast sequence din. Sayang, di nila nagaya yung sweeping camera movement sa Beauty and the Beast.

Blog EntryRelease Feb 26, '08 10:22 PM
for everyone

Am very excited about the new Bodybalance release....i've heard they will using Des'ree's Kissing You again. And a song of Joss Stone's. Hmmm....

Besides the really challenging and yet very effective yoga, pilates and balance Poses, what makes Balance special is the music. More often than not, the music helps inspires you into doing more, into challenging yourself, into exceeding your limits.
The music also lingers into your system even after just 1 class.

Like Evanescence's My Immortal. Everytime I hear it, I am reminded of the graceful star pose, and the challenging airplane pose to warrior 3.

There are other memorable songs such as Imogen Heap's  Hide and Seek, the Pantene song, of course, hahaha ( Unwritten/N. Bedingfield), lotsa Sarah Maclachlan songs: World on Fire, Angel, etc., oh, Gloria Stefan's Reach, Maroon 5's Won't Go Home Without You, with the matching abductor exercises, hahaha and more. They range from obscure to popular...and I love 'em all. Even the weirdest tracks (ie. a taped sound of a very very peaceful and very silent night time...)
